11/6/14-OMG!!! WOW!!! 🙂 I just noticed this review for THUNDER MOUNTAIN BRIDES: DEADLY LOVE – CALLIE (I really wish that I’d get an e-mail notice when reviews come in). What makes it even more AWESOME is that I don’t know this person. So getting this review with 5 stars – it really made my day!!! :):

Amazing, just like the entire series!
By MJJ on October 25, 2014
Format: Paperback
The fact is, Amanda Brooks never misses. The entire Thunder Mountain Brides series is as addictive as it is fun to read. The characters are always intensely deep, whether they’re likable or unlikable. That’s not to say they’re overly intense, as the author is also amazing at bringing in levity when it’s most needed. This book may be her best yet. I don’t want to give away any secrets (and there are lots of secrets in Thunder Mountain) but Miss Brooks had me wondering about a number of things here 🙂 Love it! Read it immediately! Reading it again! Can’t wait for the next one!

10/23/14-My beautiful book – Book 9 – THUNDER MOUNTAIN BRIDES: DEADLY LOVE – CALLIE arrived in the mail just now!!! 🙂 ❤ Here it is on my bed:

10/22/14-I forgot to remind you that Renee Zellweger is the inspiration for my heroine, Callie Cooper – Book 9 – THUNDER MOUNTAIN BRIDES:  DEADLY LOVE – CALLIE. The first photo below – from Renee’s film COLD MOUNTAIN – was the inspiration for Callie – how she’d look. Looking at Renee’s new look – the second photo – I just thought, this could be Callie when she turns 45 in 1899 (she was born in 1854). But right now, on April 22, 1882, she’ll look like the Callie in the first photo – at age 27. She’ll turn 28 on May 23rd (1882):

10/20/14-Here is an AWESOME review for THUNDER MOUNTAIN BRIDES: DEADLY LOVE – CALLIE by my DEAR Friend Melinda Wright. WOW!!! ♥:

Luckily the folks in Thunder Mountain stick together to keep out the bad guys who want to come to Thunder Mountain not …By A Reader on October 20, 2014
Format: Paperback
Everyone in Thunder Mountain, Colorado has a dark secret, a shady past, and they’ve come to Thunder Mountain for a fresh start with a new name and a new identity. But the past can stay hidden for only so long, even in the Wild Wild West. Luckily the folks in Thunder Mountain stick together to keep out the bad guys who want to come to Thunder Mountain not for a fresh start, but to get even. Amanda has really evolved as a story teller in this series, this one is the best yet, with a perfect ending as well as a perfect introduction for her last and final book in the Thunder Mountain Brides series, “In Name Only – Liza.”

I am unwritten
Can’t read my mind, I’m undefined
I’m just beginning
The pen’s in my hand, ending unplanned

Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words
That you could not find

Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin

No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips

Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten

I break tradition
Sometimes my tries are outside the lines
We’ve been conditioned
To not make mistakes, but I can’t live that way, no

10/12/14-I am almost done FINAL EDITING (one round) THUNDER MOUNTAIN BRIDES:  DEADLY LOVE – CALLIE!!! 🙂 I HOPE to FINALLY finish it tonight since I don’t have that much to go. Depending on dinner and interruptions, I’ll keep you posted. I have until 8PM so that I don’t fry my brain from too much editing all day.

10/12/14-This scene was written in honor of the end of the Wild West, and the end (second to last book) of my Thunder Mountain Brides series. It’s set on April 5, 1882:

JESSE JAMES
Thunder Mountain, Colorado
Just after eleven of the clock that morning

Callie looked up from her typewriter when Edith entered the newspaper shop.
She glanced at Jason for a moment before asking, “Did you come here by yourself, Edith? Where’s Zachary?”
“Zachary’s at the hotel with the children,” Edith said. “He said that I could come here on my own.”
“I’m glad that you decided to stay at the hotel,” Jason said.
“I wish that the two of you would reconsider,” Edith said.
“We can’t leave the dogs alone,” Callie said. “Was there something that you wanted?” She looked at the newspaper in Edith’s hand. “What’s that?”
“Have you two heard the news?” Edith asked.
“What news?” Callie asked, looking at Jason.
Jason noticed that Callie was suddenly very, very nervous.
Edith handed Callie the newspaper, and said, “Jesse James is dead.”
Callie’s gaze focused on the front-page article for several long moments. And then, she finally read out loud, “On the third of April, after eating breakfast, the Fords and James prepared to depart for another robbery. They went in and out of James’ house to ready the horses. As it was an unusually hot day, James removed his coat, then removed his firearms, lest he look suspicious. Noticing a dusty picture on the wall, he stood on a chair to clean it. Bob Ford shot James in the back of the head. James’ two previous bullet wounds and partially missing middle finger served to positively identify the body.”
Looking up at Edith and Jason, she said, “The Gunfight at the O.K. Corral and Jesse James’ death mark the beginning of the end of the Wild West.”
“It won’t be long before we are nothing more than mere mentions in books on the Wild West,” Edith said. Indicating Callie’s typewriter, she said, “Your stories will be all that’s left of us.”

10/10/14-Once again, here is the front of the book excerpt for THUNDER MOUNTAIN BRIDES:  DEADLY LOVE – CALLIE:

He walked around the lower floor of the quiet barn, checking on all the sleepy animals to make sure that they had plenty of food, water, hay, and warm blankets.

“Callie,” he slowly said, “please lower my pistol into the hay, and step away from the open doors. The storm outside is getting worse, and I don’t want you to get struck by lightning.”
She stared at him for a long moment before finally asking, “Why did you intrude on me in my bath, Detective Tyler? Was it so that you could see me naked? Or was it so that you could do the job that Bill had sent you here to do?”
He was beginning to wonder if he was in the thralls of a nightmare.
But if he was, did he want to wake up from it?
Turning his head, he spied a blanket by the ladder, walked over to it, picked it up, tossed it at her feet, and gently said, “You may want to wrap this around you.”
Callie glanced down at the blanket, and then back up at Detective Tyler, and asked, “Why? Does my nudity repulse you? Do my scars repulse you?”
On the contrary, nothing about Callie’s lush nudity, nor her scars, repulsed him, Jason thought.

10/1/14-Today, I start FINAL EDITS (one round) on THUNDER MOUNTAIN BRIDES:  DEADLY LOVE – CALLIE. But while I was in the shower just now, I came to the conclusion (you can do a lot of thinking – or singing) that instead of being released on Thanksgiving Day, November 27th, THUNDER MOUNTAIN BRIDES:  DEADLY LOVE – CALLIE will be released when I finish FINAL EDITS next week. Two factors made me want to release this book on Thanksgiving Day: 1)I was going to release THUNDER MOUNTAIN BRIDES:  IN NAME ONLY – LIZA on Christmas Eve, December 24th, because one of the FINAL scenes took place on Christmas Eve 1882. So, I thought that I’d make THUNDER MOUNTAIN BRIDES:  DEADLY LOVE – CALLIE a Holiday release to coincide with the Holiday release of THUNDER MOUNTAIN BRIDES:  IN NAME ONLY – LIZA, 2)I thought that it would be better to release THUNDER MOUNTAIN BRIDES:  DEADLY LOVE – CALLIE on Thanksgiving Day, November 27th, because of moving. But now that I’m moved, and have some time on my hands, I can release it next week. So THUNDER MOUNTAIN BRIDES:  DEADLY LOVE – CALLIE will be release next week. 🙂

9/30/14-Starting tomorrow – October 1st – I will begin FINAL EDITS (one round) on THUNDER MOUNTAIN BRIDES:  DEADLY LOVE – CALLIE so that it’ll be ready for its Thanksgiving Day – November 27th – release. 🙂

8/18/14-I will FINAL EDIT (0ne round) THUNDER MOUNTAIN BRIDES:  DEADLY LOVE – CALLIE starting on November 1st – if not sooner – for a Thanksgiving Day Holiday release on November 27th. Being a Virgo, I am impatient, and hate that I have to wait that long to release Callie! But it’ll be well worth the wait, and I want a Holiday release. 🙂 Tomorrow, I begin work on the final book of my beloved Thunder Mountain Brides Series – Book 10 – THUNDER MOUNTAIN BRIDES:  IN NAME ONLY – LIZA. 🙂 ❤

8/18/14-To celebrate having finished writing THUNDER MOUNTAIN BRIDES:  DEADLY LOVE – CALLIE, here is the song “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield, along with the lyrics:

8/18/14-Time to FINALLY finish my last scene in THUNDER MOUNTAIN BRIDES:  DEADLY LOVE – CALLIE. Never work on a FINAL scene before dealing with getting ready to go to Work, and being constantly interrupted by Facebook posts!

8/18/14-In the FINAL scene of Thunder Mountain Brides:  Deadly Love – Callie, the hero and heroine for Book 10 – THUNDER MOUNTAIN BRIDES:  IN NAME ONLY – LIZA – arrive by stagecoach. Thunder Mountain, Colorado is a very wealthy town, THANKS to Bank President, Zachary Scalen (Book 1 – THUNDER MOUNTAIN BRIDES:  THE OUTLAW SCHOOLTEACHER – EDITH). But due to plot purposes, arrival by stagecoach is very, very necessary! The hero and heroine for Book 10 – THUNDER MOUNTAIN BRIDES:  IN NAME ONLY – LIZA are Judge Adam Fenton and Liza Wilkes. Here are pics of a Wild West train and stagecoach:

8/18/14-HEE-HAW!!! 🙂 I’m on my FINAL scene in THUNDER MOUNTAIN BRIDES:  DEADLY LOVE – Callie!!! 🙂 This is going to be bittersweet, though. 😦 🙂 Working on Callie and Jason has been PURE JOY!!! 🙂 Although I will be finished writing Callie today, it won’t come out until Thanksgiving Day – November 27th. I want it to be a HOLIDAY GIFT, along with Book 10 – THUNDER MOUNTAIN BRIDES:  IN NAME ONLY – LIZA, which will be out on Christmas Eve – December 24th.

8/18/14-Time to finish my final two scenes in THUNDER MOUNTAIN BRDIES:  DEADLY LOVE – CALLIE. Hopefully, I will finish them today!!! 🙂 It shouldn’t take so long to write two scenes!!! 🙂

8/17/14-Since I’m also having trouble finding a good photo of what Callie Cooper’s newspaper shop would have looked like back in 1882, here’s a photo of what her printing press would have looked like back in 1882:

8/17/14-In my FINAL scene of THUNDER MOUNTAIN BRIDES:  DEADLY LOVE – CALLIE, everyone’s FAVORITE traveling salesman arrives in town with his wife for a visit. I have never named him. I held a contest to name him, and Jennifer Edwards won – his name is Phillip Boyle. The inspiration for my traveling salesman is actor Eddie Albert. While you all know him BEST as lawyer Oliver Wendell Douglas on the TV Series GREEN ACRES, the inspiration for my traveling salesman came from Eddie’s role as Ali Hakim – a Persian peddler – in the film OKLAHOMA! His unnamed character was only supposed to be a couple of short scenes in Danny’s book – Book 3 – THE DEVIL AND THE LORD – DANNY. But I liked him so much, I had him make appearances throughout the Series. Here is the photo of Eddie as Ali Hakim – the Persian Peddler in Oklahoma! – my inspiration for my traveling salesman, Phillip Boyle. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a YouTube clip of him in Oklahoma! 😦

8/17/14-HEE-HAW!!! 🙂 I’m on my FINAL scene in THUNDER MOUNTAIN BRIDES:  DEADLY LOVE – CALLIE. HEE-HAW!!! 🙂 I don’t know whether to smile or cry. 🙂

8/17/14-Time to get back to writing on THUNDER MOUNTAIN BRIDES:  DEADLY LOVE – CALLIE. I have two scenes left. 😦 🙂

8/17/14-HEE-HAW!!! 🙂 I have two scenes left to write of Thunder Mountain Brides:  Deadly Love – Callie. Sniff, sniff!!! 😦 🙂 I’m going to take a little break right now since I’ve been doing some AMAZING writing all day, and come back to these last two scenes later tonight. 🙂

8/17/14-Now that I’m done with the pillow fight – or at least Callie and Jason are 🙂 – I am working on the part of the love scene that hits home to me when it comes to dealing with relationships. When I say relationships, I don’t necessarily mean between lovers. This can also be between friends or relatives. I learned from experience (friendship) that one doesn’t need to always apologize. When you apologize, you end up rehashing the fight – which ends up making things worse. It no longer becomes about the apology, or even the fight, but about who was right and who was wrong. Sometimes, after a cooling off period, it’s better to move on. It may be hard/awkward for that first moment. But by doing this, your friendship/relationship is better/stronger. And after a few more moments, you forget what the fight was about, and can even laugh about it. That’s why I don’t (always) agree with apologies or rehashing things. Again, I didn’t plan this part of the scene. It just happened. And it made me think about my experiences with apologies and rehashing arguments. That’s why there will be no apologizing or rehashing between Callie and Jason. 🙂

8/17/14-I always thought that pillow fights were something that pre-teen and teen girls had at slumber parties. I can’t believe that Callie and Jason are having a pillow fight right now!!! 🙂 I did not plan this – it just happened. 🙂

8/17/14-Ahh!!! 🙂 Jason buys Callie two Gifts Of Love – a book of Love Quotes which I appropriately titled “Love Quotes”, and a new typewriter that was exactly like her old one – which got destroyed in the fire set to her newspaper shop (won’t tell you by whom – read the book! :)). Again, here’s the typewriter, and the same typewriter today – which I saw in a General Store in a Ghost Town outside of Las Vegas, Nevada. And again, the love quote is:

“Love enables you to put your deepest feelings and fears in the palm of your partner’s hand, knowing they will be handled with care.”

– Carl S. Avery

8/17/14-It’s VERY RARE when I get a Sunday off that’s not of my choosing. Today, I am going to do some AWESOME writing on Thunder Mountain Brides: Deadly Love – Callie. I only have a few scenes left. 😦 🙂 I’m working on the final love scene between Callie and Jason now, while listening to the perfect song that fits this scene – LOVER, YOU SHOULD’VE COME OVER by Natalie Maines – and sitting at my writing desk looking out at this beautiful August 17th day.

August17

Looking out the door I see the rain fall upon the funeral mourners
Parading in a wake of sad relations as their shoes fill up with water
And maybe I’m too young to keep good love from going wrong
But tonight you’re on my mind so you never know

When I’m broken down and hungry for your love with no way to feed it
Where are you tonight, child you know how much I need it
Too young to hold on and too old to just break free and run

Sometimes a man gets carried away, when he feels like he should be having his fun
And much too blind to see the damage he’s done
Sometimes a man must awake to find that really, he has no-one

So I’ll wait for you and I’ll burn
Will I ever see your sweet return
Oh will I ever learn

Oh lover, you should’ve come over
‘Cause it’s not too late

Lonely is the room, the bed is made, the open window lets the rain in
Burning in the corner is the only one who dreams he had you with him
My body turns and yearns for a sleep that will never come

It’s never over, my kingdom for a kiss upon her shoulder
It’s never over, all my riches for her smiles when I slept so soft against her
It’s never over, all my blood for the sweetness of her laughter
It’s never over, she’s the tear that hangs inside my soul forever

Well maybe I’m just too young
To keep good love from going wrong

Oh lover, you should’ve come over
‘Cause it’s not too late

Well I feel too young to hold on
And I’m much too old to break free and run
Too deaf, dumb, and blind to see the damage I’ve done
Sweet lover, you should’ve come over
Oh, love well I’m waiting for you

Lover, you should’ve come over
‘Cause it’s not too late

8/16/14-The quote that sums up Callie and Jason in Thunder Mountain Brides:  Deadly Love – Callie – which is also the text blurb on the back cover – is:

“Love enables you to put your deepest feelings and fears in the palm of your partner’s hand, knowing they will be handled with care.”

– Carl S. Avery

8/16/14-Time to do a little more writing on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Deadly Love – Callie before going to bed.

8/16/14-I was trying to think of another perfect love song for Callie and Jason after using Sherrie Austin’s LOVE MELTS EVEN THE COLDEST HEARTS. I decided to go with a song that I’ve been listening to a lot – LOVER, YOU SHOULD’VE COME OVER by Natalie Maines. Here’s the song that goes perfectly with the love scene that I’m writing now, along with the lyrics:

Looking out the door I see the rain fall upon the funeral mourners
Parading in a wake of sad relations as their shoes fill up with water
And maybe I’m too young to keep good love from going wrong
But tonight you’re on my mind so you never know

Sometimes a man gets carried away, when he feels like he should be having his fun
And much too blind to see the damage he’s done
Sometimes a man must awake to find that really, he has no-one

So I’ll wait for you and I’ll burn
Will I ever see your sweet return
Oh will I ever learn

Oh lover, you should’ve come over
‘Cause it’s not too late

Lonely is the room, the bed is made, the open window lets the rain in
Burning in the corner is the only one who dreams he had you with him
My body turns and yearns for a sleep that will never come

It’s never over, my kingdom for a kiss upon her shoulder
It’s never over, all my riches for her smiles when I slept so soft against her
It’s never over, all my blood for the sweetness of her laughter
It’s never over, she’s the tear that hangs inside my soul forever

Well maybe I’m just too young
To keep good love from going wrong

Oh lover, you should’ve come over
‘Cause it’s not too late

Well I feel too young to hold on
And I’m much too old to break free and run
Too deaf, dumb, and blind to see the damage I’ve done
Sweet lover, you should’ve come over
Oh, love well I’m waiting for you

Lover, you should’ve come over
‘Cause it’s not too late

8/16/14-I have five scenes left to write on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Deadly Love – Callie. 🙂 I can’t believe it!!! 🙂 But as you know, despite the fact that I have five scenes left, I will not be releasing this book until Thanksgiving Day. I almost regret that I have to wait that long, but it’s something that I want to do. 🙂

8/16/14-At my writing desk working on Thunder Mountain Brides: Deadly Love – Callie, looking out at this beautiful August 16th morning.

8/15/14-It’s been awhile since I’ve had a church scene. The church used to double as the schoolhouse – which I copied from LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE. Here’s a photo of the church – a photo that I took when I visited a ghost town outside of Las Vegas, Nevada. This photo was used on the front cover of Book 1 – Thunder Mountain Brides:  The Outlaw Schoolteacher – Edith.

8/15/14-I did a kind of 360 meaning that Jason is in a near death situation that takes him back to the bank robbery scene in Book 1 – Thunder Mountain Brides:  The Outlaw Schoolteacher – Edith. In this scene, his son Johnny is shot and killed by Edith. So in his near death experience, Jason is a spirit witness – meaning that no one can see him except for Johnny’s spirit. It has a Supernatural feel to it, and is a COOL scene!!! 🙂

8/15/14-I worked on Thunder Mountain Brides: Deadly Love – Callie during my breaks at Work today, and am now going to copy and paste what I wrote into my Word Document. I wrote some AWESOME scenes!!! 🙂

8/14/14-Time to do a little more writing on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Deadly Love – Callie while listening to Natalie Maines’ BRILLIANT debut solo album MOTHER. Usually I need peace and quiet while writing – unless the scene requires a song. But her album is calming and soothing and beautiful. 🙂

8/10/14-In Thunder Mountain Brides:  Deadly Love – Callie, I don’t want to give too much away, but Callie loses her beloved newspaper shop and typewriter to a fire. Here is a photo of Callie’s typewriter, and the same typewriter from 1880 that I found in a Western Ghost Town General Store on a visit outside Las Vegas, Nevada.

8/10/14-Time to do some more writing on Thunder Mountain Brides: Deadly Love – Callie. I’ve also decided that while I’m almost done with Callie, I’m going to release it on Thanksgiving Day. I will work on my final book of the Thunder Mountain Brides Series (Book 10 – Thunder Mountain Brides: In Name Only – Liza), which will be released on Christmas Eve. I already know that the final to last scene of my final book – Liza – takes place on Christmas Eve, hence why I will release it on Christmas Eve. So I thought it fitting to release Callie on Thanksgiving Day – making these last two books Holiday releases.

So stay tuned for Thunder Mountain Brides: Deadly Love – Callie on November 27, 2014 and Thunder Mountain Brides: In Name Only – Liza on December 24, 2014.

8/10/14-I worked on Thunder Mountain Brides: Deadly Love – Callie while waiting for my play to start today, and during the intermission, and am now going to copy and paste what I wrote into my Word Document.

8/5/14-Here is my Jesse James death mention scene in THUNDER MOUNTAIN BRIDES:  DEADLY LOVE – CALLIE. It’s between Callie, Jason, and Edith:

JESSE JAMES
Thunder Mountain, Colorado
April 5, 1882 – Just after eleven of the clock that morning

Callie looked up from her typewriter when Edith entered the office.
She looked at Jason for a moment before looking back at Edith, and asking, “Did you come here by yourself? Where’s Zachary?”
“Zachary’s back at the hotel with the children,” Edith said. “He said that I could come here on my own.”
“I’m glad that you decided to stay at the hotel,” Jason said.
“I wish that the two of you would reconsider,” Edith said.
“We can’t leave the dogs alone,” Callie said. “Was there something that you wanted?” She looked at the newspaper in Edith’s hand, and asked, “What’s that?”
“Have you heard the news?” Edith asked.
“What news?” Callie asked, looking at Jason.
Jason saw that Callie was suddenly very, very nervous.
Edith handed Callie the newspaper, and said, “Jesse James is dead.”
Callie’s gaze focused on the front-page article for several long moments, and then read out loud, “On the third of April, after eating breakfast, the Fords and James prepared to depart for another robbery.
Looking up at Edith and Jason, she whispered, “The Gunfight at the O.K. Corral and Jesse James’ death mark the beginning of the end of the Wild West.”
Quietly, Edith said, “It won’t be long before we are nothing more than mere mentions in books on the Wild West.” Indicating Callie’s typewriter, she said, “Your stories will be all that’s left of us.”
Just then, the door to the shop opened, and Melinda Thornton Rutherford stepped inside.
While Callie and Melinda just stared at each other, Jason looked at Edith, and asked, “May I see you outside for a moment?”
Edith stared at Jason for a long moment before finally nodding, and following him outside into the light drizzle.

8/5/14-Time to do some writing on THUNDER MOUNTAIN BRIDES:  DEADLY LOVE – CALLIE. As soon as I write the Jesse James death mention scene, I’ll post it.

8/4/14-I have a very, very special surprise for you! 🙂 My mom’s family visited Jesse James’ house in Missouri in 1920! 🙂 She is doing her Ancestry on her family, and found these AWESOME, AMAZING photos! 🙂 Here they are! 🙂 By the way, notice that I said my mom’s family – not my mom. She wasn’t around in 1920. 🙂

8/4/14-Here are pictures of Jesse James and his murderer, Robert Ford:

JessejamesRobert_Ford

8/4/14-I haven’t written the scene where Callie learns about Jesse James’ death yet, but here’s a snippet on his death:

On April 3, 1882, after eating breakfast, the Fords and James prepared to depart for another robbery. They went in and out of the house to ready the horses. As it was an unusually hot day, James removed his coat, then removed his firearms, lest he look suspicious. Noticing a dusty picture on the wall, he stood on a chair to clean it. Bob Ford shot James in the back of the head.[53][54][55] James’ two previous bullet wounds and partially missing middle finger served to positively identify the body.[13]

8/4/14-The scene that I’m working on now in THUNDER MOUNTAIN BRIDES:  DEADLY LOVE – CALLIE has Edith telling Callie and Jason about the death of Jesse James. While Jesse James died on April 3, 1882, Callie doesn’t find out about it until April 5, 1882 – two days later – due to not having gone into town on April 4, 1882 for personal reasons. It’s my fault – I kept thinking that Jesse was murdered on April 4, 1882 due to having a lot on my mind. I just realized that he was murdered on April 3, 1882, and having already written a scene that takes place on April 4th – which I can’t change – I will use the excuse that Callie hasn’t been in town to hear the news. I will post the scene once I write it.

8/4/14-I worked on Thunder Mountain Brides: Deadly Love – Callie during my breaks at Work, and am now going to copy and paste what I wrote into my Word Document. I wrote some AWESOME stuff!!! 🙂

8/2/14-Part of the love scene that I just wrote in Thunder Mountain Brides:  Deadly Love – Callie was titled LOVE MELTS EVEN THE COLDEST HEARTS. For those of you who truly know me, I always find the PERFECT song to fit a scene. This title comes from the song sung by one of my favorite artists ever! – Sherrie Austin. Here is Sherrie Austin singing LOVE MELTS EVEN THE COLDEST HEARTS, and the beautiful lyrics to her beautiful song:

I’ve spent some time on the hurtin’ side
Of a love that only let me down
You’ve been alone out there on your own
Tryin’ to find something you never found
I thought for sure I had given up
‘Til I felt the fire of your touch

Love melts even the coldest hearts
Love mends even the broken parts
That we lock deep inside
Oh hoah, I swore I’d never let love in
You said you’d never love again
But here we are
Because love melts even the coldest hearts

Lonely nights, bitter tears
Oh how they left their mark
But now I find my doubts disappear
In the warmth of your arms
Love melts even the coldest hearts

Oh hoah
Love melts even the coldest parts
Love mends even the broken parts
That we lock deep inside
Oh hoah, I swore I’d never let love in
You said you’d never love again
But here we are
Because love melts even the coldest hearts

Woah
Love melts even the coldest hearts
Ooh

8/2/14-I worked on Thunder Mountain Brides: Deadly Love – Callie during my breaks at Work, and am now going to copy and paste what I wrote into my Word Document. I wrote some AWESOME stuff!!! 🙂 I am working on the LOVE SCENE right now. 🙂 FINALLY!!! 🙂

8/1/14-Here is the excerpt for the front of my book (set on March 29, 1882):

Grimacing at the small bump on the back of his head, Jason walked through the pouring rain towards the barn, and entered it.
He walked around the lower floor of the quiet barn, checking on all the sleepy animals to make sure that they had plenty of food, water, hay, and a warm blanket.
He then stared at the ladder going up to the hayloft for a long moment before finally climbing it.
He had expected many things when he got to the top.
He had not expected to find a pistol-packing Callie standing in front of the open double doors in all her naked glory.
Ignoring her nudity – which was very, very easy to do under these circumstances – he focused on the pistol – his pistol – aimed at him.
“Callie,” he slowly said, “please lower my pistol into the hay, and step away from the open doors. The storm outside is getting worse, and I don’t want you to get struck by lightning.”
She stared at him for a long moment before asking, “Why did you intrude on me in my bath, Detective Tyler? Was it so that you could see me naked? Or was it so that you could do the job that Bill had sent you here to do?
He was beginning to wonder if he was in the thralls of a nightmare.
But if he was, did he want to wake up from it?
Turning his head, he spied a blanket by the ladder, walked over to it, picked it up, tossed it by her feet, and gently said, “You may want to wrap this around you.”
Callie glanced down at the blanket, and then back up at Detective Tyler, and asked, “Why? Does my nudity repulse you? Do my scars repulse you?”
On the contrary, nothing about Callie’s lush nudity, nor her scars, repulsed him, Jason thought.

8/1/14-I worked on Thunder Mountain Brides: Deadly Love – Callie during my breaks at Work, and am now going to copy and paste what I wrote into my Word Document. I wrote some AWESOME stuff!!! 🙂 I am working on the LOVE SCENE right now. 🙂 FINALLY!!! 🙂

7/31/14-I’m going to do some AWESOME, AWESOME writing on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Deadly Love – Callie here at my writing desk on this BEAUTIFUL July 31st afternoon.

July31

7/30/14-DANG!!! 🙂 My characters in my THUNDER MOUNTAIN BRIDES Series eat very, very well – delicious, home-cooked meals!!! I get hungry when I write such scenes!!! Here’s a snippet (what Callie says to Jason in Thunder Mountain Brides:  Deadly Love – Callie) of how well they eat:

Instead, she stared at him for a long moment before finally saying, “When you’re done bathing in the bathtub in the barn since I don’t want you to get water or mud in the house, I will have supper ready. I know that you love Pamela’s vegetarian cooking, but you will love my barbecued chicken, potato salad, baked beans, and hot, buttered biscuits even more.”

7/30/14-I worked on Thunder Mountain Brides: Deadly Love – Callie during my breaks at Work, and while waiting for my film to start, and am now going to copy and paste what I wrote into my Word Document. I wrote some AWESOME stuff!!! I know that I keep saying that, but because I’m now in the suspense/thriller part of my book – which is why the book is titled DEADLY LOVE – not to mention getting close to the HOT love scene – it’s AWESOME!!! 🙂

7/29/14-I worked on Thunder Mountain Brides: Deadly Love – Callie during my breaks at Work, and while waiting for my film to start, and am now going to copy and paste what I wrote into my Word Document. 7/27/14-OMG!!! 🙂 While I don’t like to create outlines on my books, I just listed the scenes that I have to write in Thunder Mountain Brides:  Deadly Love – Callie. They just came to me in a flash, and I am afraid of losing them if I don’t write them down. I can’t tell you what these scenes are, but I can tell you that they are going to be SO GOOD!!! 🙂 And I can tell you that we are getting into the suspense/thriller part of my book – which is why the book is titled DEADLY LOVE. 🙂 If you’re wondering if there’s going to be a HOT love scene in one of these scenes, you won’t be disappointed! 🙂

7/27/14-I ask myself, Do I want to do a flashback scene, or do I want my character to tell another character something that had happened in the past without using flashback? Thunder Mountain Brides:  Deadly Love – Callie already has two flashback scenes. I decided that the scene that I’m working on now won’t be flashback because I don’t want it to be done to death. One, two, maybe three flashback scenes is good, but not more. That’s why I was struggling with this scene today. And then I realized that it was more effective to have Callie tell Jason what had happened in her past than to have it told in flashback.

7/27/14-It’s so nice to be able to write on my actual Word Document today, and not have to copy and paste later when out! 🙂

7/27/14-Time to do some AWESOME writing on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Deadly Love – Callie. My cover artist Michael Hebler is almost done with my cover – I’m just waiting to see if I need spine text. I can’t wait to show you the final cover when it’s ready!!! 🙂

7/26/14-Winding down for the night by doing a little more writing on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Deadly Love – Callie.

7/20/14-Time to get back to working on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Deadly Love – Callie. Due to heat exhaustion and other stuff that kept me from writing, I’m now back to writing. 🙂

7/18/14-In the scene that I just wrote – which was set on March 22, 1882 – Callie and Edith are going to teach Edith’s schoolchildren about Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday, and what happened during the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral.

7/16/14-The scene that I’m writing now – which is set on March 22, 1882 – is called AUNTIE CALLIE. The title comes from my three-year-old niece Senna calling me Auntie Amanda. 🙂

7/8/14-Thunder Mountain Brides: Deadly Love – Callie: March 20, 1882 – Seriously! If you have an evil husband after you – who hired someone to have you whacked off (again, I know it’s whacked, but whacked off sounds better) – who will happen to become your future second husband – don’t go out into the forest late at night – even if you do have a pistol! It’s like in the horror movies where you either split up or run up the stairs instead of outside – although in Drew Barrymore’s case in SCREAM, running outside was not a good option. Yes, I know that I wrote this scene. I have only myself to blame. But I’m also blaming my heroine Callie. 🙂 Like seriously, Dudette!!! 🙂 SO NOT COOL!!! 🙂

7/8/14-Time to do a little writing on Thunder Mountain Brides: Deadly Love – Callie before going to bed.

7/6/14-Here is a snippet of the Boot Hill scene that I just wrote. This scene takes place on March 20, 1882.

CHAPTER FOURTEEN
JOHNNY’S UNMARKED GRAVE
Just after four of the clock that afternoon

Entering Boot Hill Cemetery, Edith walked around for several long moments before she finally found what she was looking for.
Walking over to stand beside Edith, Jason looked at the grave marker with Unknown written vertically on it before looking down at the pile of dirt and rocks that covered his son’s dead body six feet below.

7/6/14-I am going to do a little more writing on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Deadly Love – Callie before leaving for Work. In this scene, Edith takes Jason (Thunder Mountain Brides:  Deadly Love – Callie) to visit his son Johnny’s unmarked grave on Boot Hill. Remember, Johnny was Edith’s eighteen-year-old outlaw lover (when she was Maggie) in Thunder Mountain Brides:  The Outlaw Schoolteacher – Edith. Here are two pictures of Boot Hill. The first is a photo that I found on the internet. The second is one that I took when I visited a ghost town outside of Las Vegas, Nevada.

boot hill

7/5/14-I was originally going to have the scene where Edith takes Jason (Thunder Mountain Brides:  Deadly Love – Callie) to visit his son Johnny’s unmarked grave on Boot Hill set late at night. When a scene first comes to mind, it sounds very good. But now that I’m about to write the scene, it doesn’t make sense to have them visiting the unmarked grave on Boot Hill late at night. It may sound mysterious, but there’s no rhyme or reason to it. Remember, Johnny was Edith’s eighteen-year-old outlaw lover (when she was Maggie) in Thunder Mountain Brides:  The Outlaw Schoolteacher – Edith.

7/5/14-Time to do a little writing on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Deadly Love – Callie before going to bed. I’ve been very, very LAX due to Work and having way too much on my mind. I haven’t been in the mood to write. Now I am.

7/4/14-Time to do some AWESOME writing on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Deadly Love – Callie. I’ve been very, very LAX due to Work and having way too much on my mind. Now I can FINALLY relax and write!!! 🙂

6/27/14-Time to do some writing on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Deadly Love – Callie. It’s quite sad when I said that I was going to do some AWESOME writing the last two nights, and nodded off after only one sentence the first night, and after only one word last night! 🙂

6/26/14-Time to do some writing on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Deadly Love – Callie. It’s quite sad when I said that I was going to do some AWESOME writing last night, and nodded off after only one sentence! 🙂

6/25/14-After reading about the death of Eli Wallach last night, I really wanted to get back to working on my own Western – Thunder Mountain Brides:  Deadly Love – Callie. I’ve been very lax due to exhaustion after Work and Vacation Bible Study.

6/23/14-I worked on Thunder Mountain Brides: Deadly Love – Callie during my breaks at Vacation Bible Study, and am now going to copy and paste what I wrote into my Word Document.

6/21/14-Despite the fact that each new book has a new hero and heroine, the previous hero and heroine are recurring throughout the Series. The only hero and heroine that I haven’t done justice to were Ian and Pamela (from Book 5-Thunder Mountain Brides:  Be Wild My Little Child – Pamela). But plot purposes did not call for them to have supporting roles in future books – until now (Book 9-Thunder Mountain Brides:  Deadly Love – Callie). Pamela just told Ian that she is going to have a baby. But she’s afraid. If you’ve read the Series – especially Pamela’s and Ian’s story – you’ll know that Pamela not only is a Native American Indian Maiden, she’s also a cannibal. She’s afraid that her and Ian’s baby will be a cannibal baby. Yes, you’re reading this right. 🙂 Just read the book to find out more about this exciting and juicy (no pun intended :)) subplot. 🙂

6/18/14-There are a couple of reasons why I haven’t posted a lot on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Deadly Love – Callie. The first is that I’ve been working like a dog, watching DVD’s, and had too much on my mind to blog. There are two points that I want to make about Thunder Mountain Brides:  Deadly Love – Callie:

1)Callie’s story was originally going to take place in December in the mountains. But after writing Eva – which took place in November – I wanted to set Callie’s story from March 17th-April 17th because a lot of the plot deals with changes and new beginnings. Spring = changes and new beginnings. So Callie’s story is now set on Mabel and Cowboy Dave’s ranch.

2)Being 1882, people may think that something like cancer – especially breast cancer – didn’t exist back then. It did. I won’t tell you who – a supporting character has breast cancer, and leaves Thunder Mountain, Colorado for Tucson, Arizona because of the climate. Arizona was good for those with consumption and tuberculosis. Maybe it was hope for women with breast cancer. Here is a photo of Tucson, Arizona – A photo by Ricardo Small, circa 1880, shows intersection of Meyer Avenue and Cushing Street. The building at far right is now Cushing Street Bar.

5/23/14-OK! Time to do some writing on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Deadly Love – Callie before leaving for Work! I chose a birthday for my heroine Callie, and it’s today – May 23rd. She was born in 1854. In her story, set in 1882, she’s 27 going on 28. May 23, 1934  was also the day that Bonnie and Clyde were whacked off – OK, whacked, killed, whatever! 🙂

5/20/14-I did some writing on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Deadly Love – Callie on my iPhone Notepad on my Work breaks today, and am going to copy and paste it into my Word Document right now.

5/19/14-In the entire Thunder Mountain Brides Series, I have never mentioned what Christian denomination the town of Thunder Mountain is. In Thunder Mountain Brides:  Deadly Love – Callie, I just made mention that the town is Presbyterian (like me), and I am calling the church Thunder Mountain Presbyterian Church. 🙂

5/19/14-Time to do some writing on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Deadly Love – Callie. I’m only on the first scene – the first two sentences.

5/18/14-I need to go to bed. I will leave you with what I’ve written so far – my exciting first few sentences in Book 9 – Thunder Mountain Brides:  Deadly Love – Callie:

CHAPTER ONE
EXCITING CHANGES
Thunder Mountain, Colorado
March 17, 1882 – Ten of the clock in the morning

After a harsh, cold winter, the residents of Thunder Mountain gladly welcomed a beautiful, almost spring day on St. Patrick’s Day.
They also welcomed lots and lots of exciting changes.

5/18/14-While my last few books have been set in gloomy, rainy October and November, I want my last two books to be set in beautiful, sunny, cool Spring. Callie – Book 9 and Liza – Book 10 take place in 1882, with Liza’s book starting out in 1881. Callie’s book will be set from March 17-April 17, 1882, and Liza’s book will be set from April 17-May 17, 1882 (with some scenes set back in 1881). When I was writing Eva – Book 8, which took place in November 1881, I couldn’t wait to set Callie and Liza in Spring.

5/18/14-Time to start writing Callie. I was working on the technology stuff today before Work, and ran out of time. I will add that I love to give my heroine’s birthdates, birthplaces, full names, and back stories. Callie Cooper’s (Callie Anne Cooper) real name is Caroline Anne Thornton Anderson. She was born on May 23, 1854 in Wichita, Kansas, and later moved to Calico, Kansas with her family. I was originally going to wait until May 23rd (Callie’s birthday) to start Callie, but I was really itching to get back in the writing saddle, and couldn’t wait until May 23rd. I am a very impatient girl! 🙂

5/18/14-How I chose the name Callie for my heroine – way before the Thunder Mountain Brides Series was conceived, every Western Romance novel author that I read had a heroine named Callie. Still way before the Thunder Mountain Brides Series was conceived, I thought, if I ever wrote a Western Romance novel, I would name my heroine Callie. When the Thunder Mountain Brides Series was conceived, and I knew that it would be a Series instead of one book, the first name that came to mind was Callie. But as you know, Callie was not book 1 – Callie is book 9. But I vowed to name one of my Western Romance novel heroines Callie, and I did! 🙂 And I can’t believe that I’m FINALLY, FINALLY, FINALLY writing her story!!! 🙂

5/18/14-Here is the quote that I’m using in the front pages of the book for Book 8 – Thunder Mountain Brides:  Deadly Love – Callie. This is different from the text blurb on the back cover of the book. Here’s the quote that I’m using in the front pages of the book:

“Love enables you to put your deepest feelings and fears in the palm of your partner’s hand, knowing they will be handled with care.”

– Carl S. Avery

5/18/14-WOW!!! 🙂 I can’t believe it!!! 🙂 Although I just released Book 8 – Thunder Mountain Brides:  Who Wants To Live Forever – Eva last Thursday night, instead of waiting a bit, I am starting writing production on my new book right now – Book 9 – Thunder Mountain Brides:  Deadly Love – Callie right now. I am itching to get back in the writing saddle with a fresh, new story. Callie Cooper – Thunder Mountain’s nosy newspaper reporter whom everyone can trust – most of the time – and Detective Jason Tyler AKA notorious outlaw Jason Tyler are the heroine and hero of this book. Thunder Mountain Brides:  Deadly Love – Callie will be INTENSE, PASSIONATE, HOT, and maybe DEADLY!!! 🙂
