He then stared at her for a long moment before asking, “Did you sleep with Xavier Jensen, Marta?”

When Marta didn’t answer him, he ordered, “Answer me, Marta! Did you sleep with Xavier Jensen?”

Marta looked Oliver straight in the eye, and answered, “Yes.”

Disgust written all over Oliver’s face, he simply said, “You’re nothing but a whore.”

Furious, Marta slapped Oliver hard across the face, and exclaimed, “And you’re nothing but a drunkard! At the moment, I truly believed Xavier Jensen.”

“Even if Xavier Jensen had written this letter, Father Patrick would not honor such a request, and you know that, Marta!” Oliver exclaimed, rubbing his cheek. “By the way, what did it take for him to get between your legs?”

“Don’t be so vulgar!” a furious Marta exclaimed.

Smiling a bitter smile, Oliver said, “I’m not the one who sleeps with my victims.”

Swallowing, Marta stared at Oliver for a long moment before asking, “Do you really think of me as a whore?”

Oliver stared at Marta for a long moment before asking, “Do you really think of me as a drunkard?”

“Loose lips sink ships,” Marta said.

“What is that supposed to mean?” Oliver asked.

“When you’re drunk, you let things slip,” Marta said. “You should be more careful when you drink, Oliver. You never know who’s listening.”

“What did I say, Marta?” Oliver asked, knowing full-well what she was talking about, and frightened by what his heart had revealed to her in his drunken state of mind.

When Marta turned away from him, and started to walk away, he grabbed her arm, and repeated, “What did I say, Marta?”

Staring into Oliver’s black eyes, hating him for the effect that he had on her, Marta said, “You- You said that you loved me.”

Oliver stared into Marta’s dark brown eyes for a long moment before saying, “How could I love you, Marta? You’re nothing but a whore.”

2/11/14-HEE-HAW!!! 🙂 I finished final editing Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta!!! 🙂 Here is a song – and lyrics – to celebrate my finishing final editing, and uploading my book to CreateSpace – Natasha Bedingfield’s “Unwritten”.

I am unwritten
Can’t read my mind, I’m undefined
I’m just beginning
The pen’s in my hand, ending unplanned

Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words
That you could not find

Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin

No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips

Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten

I break tradition
Sometimes my tries are outside the lines
We’ve been conditioned
To not make mistakes, but I can’t live that way, no

Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words
That you could not find

Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin

No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in

2/11/14-I have 1 scene, and 2 pages, left to final edit. 🙂 Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta has been PURE JOY, FUN, and HAPPINESS to write!!! 🙂

2/11/14-Here’s a snippet of a scene that also contains my text blurb on the back cover of Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta:

Marta didn’t waste any time in getting out of the tub, and glaring down at him.

“How dare you?” she exclaimed. “How dare you?”

And then, to Oliver’s surprise, she stuck her hands in his bath, and splashed him and the floor over and over.

Laughing, Oliver grabbed her, pulled her into the tub, and passionately kissed her.

Squealing with laughter, Marta tried to break free.

            To no avail.

And then, she finally gave in to his passionate kiss.

When Oliver finally broke his passionate kiss, she stared at him for a long moment before whispering, “If love is a sin, punish me by kisses.”

Oliver stared at Marta for a long moment before whispering, “And if love is a crime, I wanna be your victim.”

Suddenly smiling a naughty smile, Marta asked, “Is that your pistol poking me, or are you just happy to see me?”

Oliver threw back his head, and roared with laughter.

He then looked at Marta, returned her naughty smile, and said, “I will give you a happy ending that you’ll never forget, Mrs. Medina.”

2/11/14-I have 5 more pages left of final editing Thunder Mountain Brides: Complicated – Marta, and then I can upload the inside of the book to CreateSpace. 🙂

2/11/14-I have 10 more pages left of final editing Thunder Mountain Brides: Complicated – Marta, and then I can upload the inside of the book to CreateSpace. 🙂

2/11/14-Here’s the scene that has the quote that is my text blurb on the back cover of Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta:

IF LOVE…

Five of the clock that morning

When the door to the veranda opened, Marta slowly sat up.

She stared at the intruder for a long moment before slowly undoing the buttons on her nightdress, and pulling the garment off over her head.

Oliver stared at his beautiful, naked bride for a long moment before quickly removing his clothing, and joining her under the warm covers.

“I assume that you read my letter?” Oliver asked.

            Marta could only nod.

“And I assume that you forgive me?” Oliver asked.

“I thought that my own life was going to end when you died,” Marta whispered, tears flooding her eyes.

“I did it to protect you,” Oliver whispered.

“Always protecting others first,” Marta whispered. “Always protecting me first.”

Pulling Marta closer against him, and taking her face in both hands, Oliver stared into her dark brown eyes – her soul – for a long moment before whispering, “If love is a sin, punish me by kisses.”

Marta stared into Oliver’s black eyes – his soul – for a long moment before whispering, “And if love is a crime, I wanna be your victim.”

Oliver passionately kissed his beautiful bride.

He then lowered his hand to trace her spine with the pads of his fingers for several long moments before pulling her as close as he could against him.

He then stared into her dark eyes – her soul – once again, and entered her body.

When she cried out, he swallowed her cry so as not to wake Hunter and Danny in the next room.

Against her mouth, he passionately whispered, “I love you, Marta.”

Marta wanted so damn much to tell Oliver that she loved him, too!

            But she couldn’t.

            Not yet.

2/11/14-I have 15 more pages left of final editing Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta, and then I can upload the inside of the book to CreateSpace. 🙂

2/7/14-It is time to do my final round of editing on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta. This is a shorter novel than the others, so it shouldn’t take me long. The cover art for Marta is done – THANKS to my BRILLIANT cover artist Michael Hebler. I’m just waiting to work on the text blurb for the back cover with my BRILLIANT text blurbist Gary Simonian – how is it that Gary can write a text blurb, and I can’t? – and then I can post the BEAUTIFUL cover, and then release the book. THANK YOU, Gary and Michael!!! 🙂 Now time to start my FINAL EDIT on Marta before leaving for Work.

1/22/14-To celebrate having finished writing Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta, here is the song “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield, along with the lyrics:

1/22/14-HEE-HAW!!! 🙂 I just finished writing Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta!!! 🙂 HEE-HAW!!! 🙂 The other AWESOME news is that my book cover for Marta and Oliver is done!!! 🙂 And it is BRILLIANT!!! 🙂 My BRILLIANT cover artist Michael Hebler did it in like 2 days!!! 🙂 I can’t wait to show it to you, and I will once I work on the text blurb for the back cover with my BRILLIANT text blurbist Gary Simonian. Gary writes a MEAN, AWESOME text blurb!!! 🙂 Once I get the text blurb from Gary, and Michael puts it on the back cover, then I will do one edit job, and then it’s done!!! 🙂 My book will be out in February – no date yet. I will keep you posted! 🙂 HEE-HAW!!! 🙂

1/22/14-I have one more scene to write, and then I’m done writing Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta!!! 🙂 😦 🙂 Is it possible to be happy and sad at the same time? 🙂 Marta’s and Oliver’s story has been such exciting joy to write! 🙂

1/22/14-If the second to last scene that I’m working on now were a movie, which it will be, the song playing would be “Crime Of The Century” by Shania Twain. Here is the song and lyrics. The lyrics fit Marta and Oliver perfectly!

I was into bein’ out on my own
I could take love or leave it alone
That’s how you get when you’re hurt to the bone
One too many times

I had this heart of mine locked away
I kept my guard up night and day
I had enough of the games they play
Out there on the line

It was the crime of the century
You played Robin Hood and rescued me
Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves
Ain’t got nothin’ on you

You came on like Jesse James
You stole my heart like you were robbin’ trains
I’m gonna lock you up for life with me
It was the crime of the century

You stacked the deck, you didn’t gamble at all
You knew exactly how the cards would fall
You bet your heart, but as I recall
I didn’t even stand a chance

I bet you had an ace up your sleeve
And here I thought that you were so naive
You took my hand an’ made me believe
In love an’ real romance

It was the crime of the century
You played Robin Hood an’ rescued me
Ali Baba an’ the Forty Thieves
Ain’t got nothin’ on you

You came on like Jesse James
You stole my heart like you were robbin’ trains
I’m gonna lock you up for life with me
It was the crime of the century

An’ if I live to be a hundred an’ one
Honey, don’cha think that it would be fun
To do it all over again

It was the crime of the century
You played Robin Hood an’ rescued me
Ali Baba an’ the Forty Thieves
Ain’t got nothin’ on you

You came on like Jesse James
You stole my heart like you were robbin’ trains
I’m gonna lock you up for life with me
It was the crime of the century

I’m gonna lock you up and throw away the key
It was the crime of the century
It was love in the third degree
It was the crime of the century

1/22/14-I did some writing on Thunder Mountain Brides: Complicated – Marta on my iPhone Notepad. I’m now going to copy and paste my work into my Word Document. I have to finish the scene I’m working on, and then I have one more scene, and then I’m done writing the book! 🙂 I was originally going to have Marta visit someone (won’t say who) in jail, but then realized that in order for her to change, and say goodbye to her past, she couldn’t.

1/22/14-Time to work on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta before leaving for Work. I don’t know if I’ll finish the book this morning, but I will finish it tonight. 🙂 😦 🙂

1/21/14-I am snuggled up in my nice, warm bed, and have four more scenes left to write on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta. I don’t know if I’ll finish the book tonight since I’m getting sleepy. But I have four more scenes left! 🙂 😦 🙂

1/21/14-The next Thunder Mountain, Colorado members to make an appearance are Mayor Main, Marjorie Windstorm, Damien Midnight Storm, Sheriff Alexander Main, and Viola Main. Alexander and Marjorie are the children of Mayor and Viola Main. Alexander is the Sheriff, and Marjorie is married to Damien – a Native American Indian. Marjorie’s and Damien’s story was told in Thunder Mountain Brides:  Forbidden Love – Marjorie. Here are there first lines:

Mayor Main – Not standing, he ordered, “Get the hell out of my study! I have a lot of work to do!” Looking at Marjorie and her Injun lover, he added, “I especially want the two of you out of here! You’re contaminating my home!”

Marjorie Windstorm – But now, she smiled a happy smile, said, “We are not leaving.”, and refused to move.

Damien Midnight Storm – Damien put his arm around his wife, and said, “But you are.” Grinning from ear to ear, he added, “Father.”

Sheriff Alexander Main – “I suggest that you step out from behind your desk, turn around, and put your hands behind your back,” Alexander said.

Viola Main – Just then, Viola Main came running into the room, followed by Marjorie, and said, “Ezekiel, I sent for our lawyer. He will be here any minute now.”

1/21/14-I did some writing on Thunder Mountain Brides: Complicated – Marta on my iPhone Notepad. I’m now going to copy and paste my work into my Word Document. I wrote an awesome scene!

1/21/14-Time to do some writing on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta before leaving for Work. I have a few scenes left before I’m finished with the book! 🙂 😦 🙂

1/20/14-Snuggled up in my nice, warm bed to do a little more writing on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta. While I only have a few more scenes left, I won’t be finishing the book tonight.

1/20/14-The quote in the beginning of Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta is “If love is a sin, punish me by kisses. And if love is a crime, I wanna be your victim.” -Julie. I’m having Marta and Oliver saying this quote – although I won’t tell you the scene:

Pulling Marta closer against him, and taking her face in both hands, Oliver stared into her dark brown eyes – her soul – for a long moment before whispering, “If love is a sin, punish me by kisses.”

Marta stared into Oliver’s dark brown eyes – his soul – for a long moment before whispering, “And if love is a crime, I wanna be your victim.”

1/20/14-The next Thunder Mountain, Colorado member to make an appearance is not actually a member, but a traveling salesman who gave Danny Lord a ride from Apple Valley, Texas to Thunder Mountain, Colorado in Danny’s story – Thunder Mountain Brides:  The Devil and The Lord – Danny. The traveling salesman is based on the traveling salesman – played by Eddie Albert – in the film Oklahoma! Here is his first line:

Oliver looked up when a traveling salesman stopped his wagon, and asked, “May I offer you a ride somewhere?”

1/20/14-Here is the italicized flashback scene that I just finished. I can share it with you because it’s a brief scene. Although it does give away a key plot, it is taken out of context.

THE ONLY WAY TO PROTECT MARTA

Outside Los Verdes, Mexico

September 25, 1881 – Eleven of the clock at night

Oliver made his way out to the barn, where Eva was hammering a large piece of metal.

            “Where’s Marta?” Eva asked.

“She is sound asleep,” Oliver said.

            “Good,” Eva said.

“Good?” Oliver asked. He watched Eva hammer a large piece of metal before asking, “What are you doing? What is that?”

Eva finished what she was doing before placing the hammer on the work table, looking up at Oliver, and saying, “This is the only way to protect Marta.”

Frowning, Oliver said, “I’m afraid that I’m not following you, Eva. What do you mean?”

“In order to protect Marta, you’re going to have to fake your own death.”-

1/20/14-The flashback scene that I’m working on now is italicized because it’s a short scene. I couldn’t italicize the last flashback scene because the last flashback scene was practically the entire book. But since this flashback scene is a small snippet, it can be italicized.

1/20/14-WOW!!! Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta is really turning into a Soap Opera what with all these twists and turns! A real roller coaster ride of emotions! This book is SO MUCH FUN to write! 🙂

1/20/14-I’m so glad that I have today off! 🙂 It’s very rare to have a holiday off! 🙂 Time to do some awesome writing on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta. I’m sitting at my writing desk, looking out at this beautiful, sunny, cool, quiet day, pretending to be Jane Austen – but with a laptop. 🙂

writingjanuary20

1/20/14-The next Thunder Mountain, Colorado member to make an appearance is Callie Cooper – the town’s ex-newspaper reporter, and the creator/author of the ten-book western romance Series Thunder Mountain Brides. Here is her first line:

“Which is why I’m here, Miss Anessa,” Callie said. “I want to write your and your husband’s story.”

1/20/14-I did some writing on Thunder Mountain Brides: Complicated – Marta on my iPhone Notepad. I’m now going to copy and paste my work into my Word Document. I wrote an awesome scene!

1/20/14-Time to do some writing on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta.

1/19/14-So we have Hunter Lord and Danny Lord, so far, as the Thunder Mountain, Colorado members who make an appearance in Thunder Mountain, Colorado. Remember – Hunter Lord runs the saloon, and is Marta’s older brother, and Danny Lord is Hunter’s bride – Book 3 – The Devil and The Lord – Danny. I will share with you their first lines:

Hunter Lord – Hunter Lord stared at his sister for a long moment before saying, “Hello, Marta.”

Danny Lord – “I- I hope that I’m not disturbin’ you, Marta,” Danny said. “I thought that you must be starvin’. I brought you a supper tray.”

1/19/14-Almost all of Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta takes place in July, August, and September – when it’s hot. The little part that takes place in Thunder Mountain, Colorado takes place in October – when it’s rainy and cold.

1/19/14-So now we’re back in Thunder Mountain, Colorado. In the Prologue of the book, we only had Hunter Lord – Marta’s older brother. This book will only feature a few Thunder Mountain, Colorado members. I will keep you posted as to whom will be featured as I write the scenes. I will say that I am nearing the end of the book – there are only a few scenes left. I don’t know if I’m happy or sad. 🙂 😦

1/19/14-Snuggled up in my nice, warm bed, drinking hot English Breakfast black tea, I am working on new scenes for Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta.

1/19/14-I did some writing on Thunder Mountain Brides: Complicated – Marta on my iPhone Notepad. I’m now going to copy and paste my work into my Word Document. I wrote an awesome scene!

1/19/14-The scene that I’m working on now – can’t tell you what – is the FINAL scene of the entire flashback scenes before we return to the Present – and Thunder Mountain, Colorado. As I mentioned in the beginning, this book is the only book in which only the beginning and ending have to do with Thunder Mountain, Colorado and our favorite characters. And, usually when I write flashback scenes, the scenes are italicized. But because almost the entire book is a flashback, I couldn’t italicize it.

1/19/14-Time to do some AWESOME writing on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta at my writing desk, pretending to be Jane Austen – but with a laptop, not a quill and ink.

1/18/14-I did some writing on Thunder Mountain Brides: Complicated – Marta on my iPhone Notepad. I’m now going to copy and paste my work into my Word Document.

1/18/14-You know how action films with Arnold and Sly have cheesy, stupid one liners that either make you cringe or laugh? Well, my “The Photographer Never Knocks!” scene that I’m working on right now will have some cheesy, stupid one liners that will either make you cringe or laugh. And yet, this will be one AWESOME scene!!! 🙂

1/18/14-The title for the new scene that I’m working on now – which I can’t tell you about, but you can probably guess from the title – is called “The Photographer Never Knocks!” I wanted a play-on-words of the titles “The Iceman Cometh” and “The Postman Always Rings Twice” without plagiarizing. Beware of The Photographer!!! He never knocks!!! 🙂

1/17/14-The scene that I’m working on now – can’t tell you what – has the song “Complicated” by Carolyn Dawn Johnson. All I will say is that this song describes Marta’s feelings for Oliver. I originally was going to call the book Thunder Mountain Brides:  Crime Of The Century – Marta after the Shania Twain song “Crime Of The Century”, but realized that calling it Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta after the Carolyn Dawn Johnson song “Complicated” fit Marta’s feelings a lot better. Several years ago, I made a playlist of songs for certain scenes in my Thunder Mountain Brides Series. Here’s the beautiful song “Complicated” sung by Carolyn Dawn Johnson for this scene that I won’t mention – but will mention that it fits Marta’s feelings for Oliver perfectly. I will also include the lyrics.

I’m so scared that the way that I feel
Is written all over my face
When you walk into the room
I wanna find a hiding place

We used to laugh, we used to hug
The way that old friends do
But now a smile and a touch of your hand
Just makes me come unglued

It’s such a contradiction
Do I lie or tell the truth?
Is it fact or fiction
Oh, the way I feel for you?

It’s so complicated
I’m so frustrated
I wanna hold you close, I wanna push you away
I wanna make you go, I wanna make you stay

Should I say it
Should I tell you how I feel?
Oh, I want you to know but then again I don’t
It’s so complicated

Just when I think I’m under control
I think I finally got a grip
Another friend tells me that
My name is always on your lips

They say I’m more than just a friend
They say I must be blind
Well, I admit that I’ve seen you watch me
From the corner of your eye

Oh, it’s so confusing
Yeah, I wish you’d just confess
But think of what I’d be losing
If your answer wasn’t yes

It’s so complicated
I’m so frustrated
I wanna hold you close, I wanna push you away
I wanna make you go, I wanna make you stay

Should I say it
Should I tell you how I feel?
Oh, I want you to know but then again I don’t
It’s so complicated

I hate it ’cause I’ve waited
So long for someone like you

Oh, should I say it
Should I tell you how I feel?
Oh, I want you to know but then again I don’t
It’s so complicated, so complicated
It’s so complicated

1/17/14-I did some writing on Thunder Mountain Brides: Complicated – Marta on my iPhone Notepad. I’m now going to copy and paste my work into my Word Document. I wrote some awesome scenes!

1/16/14-The scene that I’m working on now – can’t tell you what – has the same song that I shared with you in the previous scene – in which I hinted that Oliver was courting Marta. Several years ago, I made a playlist of songs for certain scenes in my Thunder Mountain Brides Series. Here’s the beautiful Spanish song “Tu Quieres Volver” sung by Sarah Brightman for this scene that I won’t mention.

1/14/14-The scene that I’m working on now – I can’t tell you too much about it, but I can say that Oliver is courting Marta – has Oliver and Marta dancing to a Spanish band. If this were a movie – which I hope to make into one – this is the song that we’d be hearing them dance to. It is the beautiful TU QUIERES VOLVER sung by Sarah Brightman. When I was creating a playlist of songs for my ten-book series a few years ago, I knew that there would be a scene where Oliver and Marta dance, and I knew that this would be the song. Here’s the song:

1/13/14-Book 6 – Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta will be the first time that I’m using models from Shutterstock. This was a hard decision for me because I had asked several friends to model for my heroines and heroes. Book 5 – Thunder Mountain Brides:  Be Wild My Little Child – Pamela marked the first time that both models were in the same room, and I had used an actual photographer. But I know that that won’t happen again – having my models in the same room. So I went to Shutterstock, and not only found models who were dressed in the appropriate costumes, but backgrounds that fit the Wild West period. So once I locked in my cover artist yesterday, I found some amazing photos for my book. I will share the photos with you before the book cover is created – especially since they’re in the appropriate costumes – which I did with Thunder Mountain Brides:  Be Wild My Little Child – Pamela. Here are the four photos that I chose for the front and back cover for Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta.

1/12/14-I can’t believe that it’s already 4:28 PM! Time to do some AWESOME writing on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta. While I don’t like to pick an exact amount of pages that my book’ll be, I’m going to say approximately 100 pages. I am on about Page 50, and have about 50 more pages to go. Half way done!

1/12/14-AWESOME news! 🙂 My cover artist, Michael Hebler, and I are starting work on the new and exciting cover for Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta. Once Michael is finished with the cover, then I will have my text blurbist, Gary Simonian, come up with an AWESOME and EXCITING text blurb for the back cover – how come he’s better at writing text blurbs than I am? – and post the cover. HEE-HAW!!! 🙂 This is going to be a FANTASTIC, AWESOME cover! I know that I said this about the last 5 covers, but each cover gets more FANTASTIC and more AWESOME! 🙂

1/7/14-The scene that I’m writing now takes place on August 30, 1881. August 30th is my birthday – although I wasn’t alive in 1881. 🙂 August 30, 1881 is also the date that Edith Scalen gave birth to twins in Thunder Mountain Brides:  Be Wild My Little Child – Pamela, and August 30, 1880 is the date that Edith Baumgarten first came to Thunder Mountain, Colorado in Thunder Mountain Brides:  The Outlaw Schoolteacher – Edith.

1/7/14-Time to do some more writing on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta. I’m really on a roll right now with some AWESOME, AWESOME scenes. This book will be more daring, more sexy, more bloody…all the components of the Wild, Wild West. 🙂

1/1/14-I just assassinated a Mexican servant who happens to be the biological mother of one of her charges who was also just assassinated. Whew! This is turning into one of those Spanish soap operas on TV!

1/1/14-Set to do some major writing tonight on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta. I’m really on a roll what with this assassin business. I’m really enjoying whacking off people. You know what I mean. 🙂 OK – whacking. But whacking off sounds so much better! 🙂 OK – I’m just going to write now. 🙂

1/1/14-My first Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta snippet of the year:

AN ASSASSIN AT 17

When Oliver suddenly switched places so that he was following her, Marta glared at him, and exclaimed, “You are no gentleman!”

Sheepishly smiling, Oliver said, “I suddenly had an image of a teenager and three little angelic girls and a housekeeper with blazing guns, and God knows what else, coming after us. I think I’m going to crap my pants.”

Unable to control a smile – small – Marta said, “You need to stop drinking before you go on jobs.”

            “I didn’t have a drink tonight. I wish that I had.”

Marta suddenly found herself saying, “I wish that I had had a drink, too.”

Just then, Marta and Oliver found themselves stepping out of the underground tunnel, and stepping into the Jensen household – a split-level, ranch-style home.

Marta looked up at Oliver, and whispered, “Elena Jensen’s funeral is tomorrow. It seems awfully quiet.”

To her surprise, Oliver stepped in front of her, blocking her from view.

Pulling two pistols from his pockets, Oliver glanced around, and then whispered, “Take your pistols from your pockets.”

Marta did not hesitate to do what Oliver had told her to do.

Oliver knew exactly what he was doing when it came to doing his job!

Suddenly, a bullet embedded itself into the wall beside Oliver’s ear.

Oliver pushed Marta onto the floor, and shot back, not caring who the shooter was.

While Marta crawled close to the wall towards a door, opened it, disappeared inside, and closed it, Oliver kept shooting back.

It wasn’t long before the shooter revealed herself in the form of 17-year-old Theresa Jensen, a cross between an innocent child and a beautiful young woman.

Her thick, chestnut-colored hair hung to her waist, and her eyes were a piercing hazel that could look into your soul.

While Oliver hated to kill her, he had no choice.

There was no doubt in his mind that this dangerous teenager would grow up to become an even more dangerous woman.

Especially when she exclaimed, “You may have murdered my stepmother, but you won’t murder me! Don’t be afraid, Medina. Just accept it. We all have to die one day, and your time has come. Like my stepmother, I’ll see to it that Father Patrick does not gain control of your body. Would you like to be buried here in Agua Dulce, as my stepmother chose, or back home in Los Verdes, Mexico?”

Oliver stared at Theresa Jensen for a long moment before asking, “Where would you like to be buried, Theresa? Would you like to be buried beside your stepmother and father – once I “murder” him? Or would you like Father Patrick to gain control of your body?”
When Theresa Jensen shot at him again, he dodged the bullet, and it embedded into the wall.

Without hesitation, he shot her above her heart.

He watched as shock and fear flooded her beautiful face.

He watched as tears streamed down her round cheeks.

He watched as she slowly sank to the floor.

He watched as she viciously glared at him.

He heard her exclaim, “May your cold, soulless body rot in your grave when it’s your turn to die, Oliver Medina!”

Before he knew what had hit him, a bullet that Theresa Jensen fired off before she died embedded into his left shoulder.

“Fuck!” he exclaimed, and collapsed to the ground.

He was a big baby when it came to pain.

            Damn!

            And then he fainted.

12/31/13-As 2013 draws to a close, I leave you with a snippet of the scene that I’m writing now in Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta:

AN ASSASSIN AT 17

12/31/13-It’s 10:33 PM here, and sadly, I’m going to go to bed at 11. I have to be up at 6:15 AM, and need my sleep. I am snuggled up in bed, and am going to do some awesome writing on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta until 11. Happy New Year, Everyone!!! 🙂

12/31/13-My New Year’s Eve will consist of KFC take-out for dinner, working on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta, watching TV, and watching my Western DVD LOVE’S LONG JOURNEY.

12/29/13-Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta-I had not planned to connect the three different assassination stories in Agua Dulce, Texas, but after the first assassination, the other two will end up being connected to the first one. All I’m going to say is that the connection between all three assassinations is an entire family. Don’t worry – the three little girls in the family will not be murdered.

12/29/13-While on my way to my movie, waiting for my movie to start this morning, and coming home from my movie just now, I did some writing on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta on my iPhone Notepad. I’m now going to copy and paste my work into my Word Document. I wrote an awesome scene! 🙂

12/29/13-Time to do a little writing on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta. I am now writing three awesome assassination scenes!!! 🙂 Some people are going to get whacked off!!! 🙂 OK – I know it’s whacked, but whacked off sounds closer to killed off than whacked. 🙂

12/28/13-While on my way to my movie, waiting for my movie to start this morning, and coming home from my movie just now, I did some writing on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta on my iPhone Notepad. 12/27/13-I just learned today that Marta and Oliver have slept together before. OK – I know that I’m creating and writing them, but I truly didn’t know – despite the fact that their story starts before the book – if they had slept together or not – until today.

12/27/13-While on my Work breaks, I did some writing on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta on my iPhone Notepad. I’m now going to copy and paste my work into my Word Document. I wrote an awesome scene! 🙂

12/27/13-Am going to do some writing on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta before leaving for Work in a few minutes.

12/26/13-1)Am going to do some writing on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta this morning. 2)2014 will be an AMAZING year because my production partner just confirmed that we will be starting production on our film Thunder Mountain Brides:  The Outlaw Schoolteacher – Edith. Hee-Haw!!!  🙂 Once he reads the book and the film script, then it’s on! 2014 will ROCK! 🙂 I will be updating you with exciting news. 🙂

12/24/13-Am going to do some writing on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta before going to bed. IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE is on in the background.

12/23/13-Just coming back from a film in which a woman named P.L. Travers does not want to give Walt Disney the rights to make a film out of her book, Mary Poppins, I am now going to do some writing on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta – the sixth book of a ten-book western romance series that will be turned into films (the first being Thunder Mountain Brides:  The Outlaw Schoolteacher – Edith) – before going to bed. The difference between P.L. Travers and I is that I don’t have Walt Disney buttering me up, and doing what he wants – I have total control over my films.

12/21/13-I’m going to do a little writing on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta before going to bed.

12/18/13-Marta and Oliver are the only Thunder Mountain couple who met off the pages. You don’t read how they met. While Edith and Zachary reveal a secret about how they first met, and Marjorie and Damien first met in a book not their own, we don’t read how Marta and Oliver first met. Their story starts in the middle of a very dangerous plot, and a very complicated relationship.

12/18/13-Sitting at my writing desk, looking out at the view, pretending to be Jane Austen-but with a laptop computer, not a quill and ink-working on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta.

12/18/13-Time to do some writing on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta.  It’s taken several days to write this one scene!  🙂  I also just figured out how I want my book cover for Marta and Oliver – it’s going to be AWESOME!!!  🙂

12/17/13-Am going to do a little writing on Thunder Mountain Brides: Complicated – Marta before Work.

12/16/13-I want to do a few minutes of writing on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta before turning in for the night. I want to finish the scene that I’m working on.

12/16/13-I worked on Thunder Mountain Brides: Complicated – Marta before Work and on a Work break and on the way home on my iPhone Notepad, and am now going to copy and paste what I wrote into my Word Document.

12/15/13-Time to do a few minutes of writing on Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta before Work.

12/14/13-Thunder Mountain Brides: Complicated – Marta is the only book of the Series where Thunder Mountain, Colorado will hardly be featured. While you’ll get Hunter in the Prologue, only the last few chapters and the Epilogue will be set in Thunder Mountain, Colorado, and feature some of the Thunder Mountain residents. Marta’s and Oliver’s story will be set in their hometown of Los Verdes, Mexico – featured in Danny’s and Hunter’s book, The Devil and The Lord – and in parts of Texas, Colorado, and New Mexico. Marta and Oliver will come to Thunder Mountain at the end of the book.

12/14/13-While I’m having take-out KFC for dinner, and waiting for the reairing of The Sound Of Music Live with Carrie Underwood to come on at 8PM, I am going to work on my new book, Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta, right now. I want to start work on it while I’m waiting for my team – Gary, mom, and dad – to read my film script for Thunder Mountain Brides:  The Outlaw Schoolteacher – Edith so that we can start film production on it.

12/9/13-I’m starting actual writing work on my new book Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta right now.

12/9/13-The new title Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta is taken from the song Complicated by Carolyn Dawn Johnson.  Here is the song – with lyrics –

I’m so scared that the way that I feel
Is written all over my face
When you walk into the room
I wanna find a hiding place

We used to laugh, we used to hug
The way that old friends do
But now a smile and a touch of your hand
Just makes me come unglued

It’s such a contradiction
Do I lie or tell the truth?
Is it fact or fiction
Oh, the way I feel for you?

It’s so complicated
I’m so frustrated
I wanna hold you close, I wanna push you away
I wanna make you go, I wanna make you stay

Should I say it
Should I tell you how I feel?
Oh, I want you to know but then again I don’t
It’s so complicated

Just when I think I’m under control
I think I finally got a grip
Another friend tells me that
My name is always on your lips

They say I’m more than just a friend
They say I must be blind
Well, I admit that I’ve seen you watch me
From the corner of your eye

Oh, it’s so confusing
Yeah, I wish you’d just confess
But think of what I’d be losing
If your answer wasn’t yes

It’s so complicated
I’m so frustrated
I wanna hold you close, I wanna push you away
I wanna make you go, I wanna make you stay

Should I say it
Should I tell you how I feel?
Oh, I want you to know but then again I don’t
It’s so complicated

I hate it ’cause I’ve waited
So long for someone like you

Oh, should I say it
Should I tell you how I feel?
Oh, I want you to know but then again I don’t
It’s so complicated, so complicated
It’s so complicated

12/9/13-Here is the song – with lyrics – Crime Of The Century by Shania Twain which is the perfect song for Marta and Oliver –

I was into bein’ out on my own
I could take love or leave it alone
That’s how you get when you’re hurt to the bone
One too many times

I had this heart of mine locked away
I kept my guard up night and day
I had enough of the games they play
Out there on the line

It was the crime of the century
You played Robin Hood and rescued me
Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves
Ain’t got nothin’ on you

You came on like Jesse James
You stole my heart like you were robbin’ trains
I’m gonna lock you up for life with me
It was the crime of the century

You stacked the deck, you didn’t gamble at all
You knew exactly how the cards would fall
You bet your heart, but as I recall
I didn’t even stand a chance

I bet you had an ace up your sleeve
And here I thought that you were so naive
You took my hand an’ made me believe
In love an’ real romance

It was the crime of the century
You played Robin Hood an’ rescued me
Ali Baba an’ the Forty Thieves
Ain’t got nothin’ on you

You came on like Jesse James
You stole my heart like you were robbin’ trains
I’m gonna lock you up for life with me
It was the crime of the century

An’ if I live to be a hundred an’ one
Honey, don’cha think that it would be fun
To do it all over again

It was the crime of the century
You played Robin Hood an’ rescued me
Ali Baba an’ the Forty Thieves
Ain’t got nothin’ on you

You came on like Jesse James
You stole my heart like you were robbin’ trains
I’m gonna lock you up for life with me
It was the crime of the century

I’m gonna lock you up and throw away the key
It was the crime of the century
It was love in the third degree
It was the crime of the century

12/9/13-The book quote that I’m using for Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta is “If love is a sin, punish me by kisses. And if love is a crime, I wanna be your victim.” -Julie. The original title was going to be Thunder Mountain Brides:  Crime Of The Century – Marta.  Marta and Oliver are hired assassins – based on the film Mr. & Mrs. Smith with Brad Pitt an Angelina Jolie. The title Crime Of The Century is taken from a song by Shania Twain – which will still be the focus of my novel. But thinking about the relationship between Marta and Oliver, it is very, very complicated – especially since they are hired to assassinate each other – hence the title change from Thunder Mountain Brides:  Crime Of The Century – Marta to Thunder Mountain Brides:  Complicated – Marta.
